Temasek Design School’s Design for Aging
DEFA (Design for Aging) is Temasek Design School’s Design Initiative for the year 2007. The students will look into the study of gerontology with practical design outcomes, exploring new opportunities to foster design innovation so as to enhance the built environment and quality of life for our aging society.
Temasek Design School’s DEFA will spearhead the generation of design ideas in the fields of assistive technology and design, in the office workplace, product ergonomics, mobility and transportation, visual design and communication.
Temasek Design School’s DEFA was held on Thurs, 5 Apr at 4pm @Temasek Polytechnic Convention Centre. GOH was Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth & Sports. The Show will also be open on Monday, 9 Apr 07.

The aging will be affluent and has strong buying power. They are a great potential as a strong consumer in the products and services industry. | |

| Temasek Design School is launching a coffee table book that comprises of 101 design ideas for the aging. These design ideas were generated by students, showcasing their capabilities and creativity. This book is to be presented to the GOH as a tribute to the founding members of our nation from the sons and daughters of Singapore. | |
