Temasek Design School’s DESIGN UNPLUGGED presented a talk by world renowned designer Andreas Storiko on Friday 4th August at 10am, LT24.
Andreas Storiko graduated in design and architecture at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (USA), and the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste in Stuttgart.
Andreas has worked with Studio Richard Sapper, and since 1994 has been working as a freelancing product designer for customers like Wilkahn, and since 1995 with B&B ITALIA. Andrea’s work with both B & B Italia and Wilkahn are stunning.
Those who had the opportunity to meet Andreas Storiko were inspired by his straight talk and down to earth design mantra of the constructive use of theory in design practice.
Often, in the context of the tension between the real world and academia, the experience is reversed, in that the specific theoretical positions postulates for universal commercial propositions. Andreas is very interesting in the way he exemplifies and engages the question of how designers theorize as they practice.
