12 KM Temasek Design School Students Photograph The KPE

It is a very significant 12 kilometers for Singapore. In a country renowned for bold action and devotion to development the Kallang Paya Lebar Expressway or KPE as it is already widely known as is another landmark in Singapore’s growing underground landscape. Bristling with technology, it will improve some of the flow of traffic around the central city area right up to the northeast of Singapore.

TDS Visual Communication students under the guiding hands of lecturer Chow Chee Yong were on hand to photograph the tunnel before it was officially opened to traffic. The pictures here give an insight into the character of the space which has an almost futuristic ambience with super sized exhaust fans and cool lighting that is illuminating to say the least. The students have managed to capture the mood of the metropolis in this soon to be humming artery.
