| Fashion and Dressage Mix Well for Course Manager! | |
On the weekdays Christine Foong, is Course Manager of the Apparel and Merchandising Design course in Temasek Design School. But last weekend she was indulging in her passion and winning the Preliminary Class of this year’s National Dressage Championships held at the Singapore Polo Club. To achieve this, Christine and her horse SMINT, had to compete in three different tests, including the Freestyle to Music. The highest total scores accumulated over two days, from 19th to 20th May 2007, from all the 3 tests determined the winner. The fundamental purpose of dressage is to develop, through standardized progressive training methods, a horse's natural athletic ability and willingness to perform, thereby maximizing its potential as a riding horse. It takes a lot of time and commitment from both rider and horse to develop the discipline required to achieve the smooth grace that some liken to ballet. It is therefore not surprising that as a course manager she works to the same values and aims for the best of her students. |
