| Whippet Good! | ||
Ask Richard Wee Kong Hee about dogs and that is what he is likely to exclaim these days. Richard who is a lecturer from the Visual Communication Department in Temasek Design School is a key member of the department but also best known for his musical contributions to Temasek Polytechnic, most recently the much acclaimed ‘MOON PEOPLE’ which was done in conjunction with TP’s 15 anniversary celebrations. Richard has become the owner of a Championship winning Whippet named Lulu. Whippets were bred to hunt, tracking and flushing out game in open areas at high speeds. Known for its outstanding running ability and they are top competitors in oval track racing. Lulu however is purely a show dog and has just returned from a stint of training with a handler in Seremban, West Malaysian. While there she became the Malaysian Champion in her class, doing Singapore proud. This breed of dog is very trainable though some tend to be over the top with their greeting which is characterized by wild displays of exuberance - bounding, jumping, howling, and other doggie affection. But the proud owner of Lulu says that she is a proper lady and seems on course to be true to her bloodline. He says she sits quietly on the piano at home as he plays his favourite tunes. LATEST: The Design School congratulates Richard on being awarded the National Day 2007 COMMENDATION MEDAL. | ![]() | |
